This piece was made using a whole load of MIDI code and synth generators to make a musical scene that generated itself. This is NOT AI generation - it was made entirely by myself.
The accompanying video scene however was generated by Photoshop, then animated by Pika - the focus of this piece in my opinion though is the audio and not the video.

The problem with any remaster made from the original tapes is that they have been sitting around for decades, and tapes degrade just sitting on the shelf. That's one reason why many remasters sound bad no matter how well -intentioned the engineer.

Just a minor correction: LA-3A style compressors do not have valves (tubes). The LA-3A was designed to be a successor to the LA-2A, and transistor/solid-state designs were the newer and more modern option at the time.

I use Paracetamol myself. I still like to mic something up even though in my untreated home studio, I sometimes get the neighbours dog that won't shut up. It's easy enough to cut that out afterwards anyway. I have EZdrummer 3 which is terrific. Other VSTs come with a sort of virtual "retailer" to browse all the other goodies whether I want them or not. I sort of appreciate the possibilities but I'm very aware that this takes time to load and uses lots of CPU when the only things I use are a couple of bass and guitar amps yet I've loaded up an entire stockist of "stuff" into Reaper. Others do it via a separate "Product manager" which goes in the computer "start" and this is much more satisfactory. One way or another, to buy a paid plugin commits you to uploading a whole range of unwanted upselling, even to the point of gadgets to buy first and clutter your desk just to get started. Strokes for folks - do what you think best. Since I find little difference between a Telecaster or a Les Paul through "Full chat" gain, I skip VSTs that are about cork-sniffing and I'm not that likely to upload an AC30 or a Marshall Plexi if they don't authentically deliver these at the gorgeous "just switched on - in the room" settings. Which they don't - and I know this for sure because I have them - along with a zillion cabs, stomp boxes - just to get the choice of three Ampeg bass amps - of which I use two. I no longer even consider freebies or beta jobs. I'm sure some are good but reviews are no substitute for loading them to try it - followed by getting rid of it soon afterwards. What's the acronym for "Pain in the 'arris?" So.....not that much faff, not that much Paracetamol, not any more VSTs than I need. EZDrummer is essential and the rest....so what? Incidentally, I picked up a tip for mic-ing up instruments that I've found to be vital. The beautiful light displays on some interfaces to set up your signal means little for two reasons - the first is the gain-staging which you have to assess for self by trial, error, experience, brute force ands ignorance. The second is - the core sound. If it just stinks, back off the interface a whole lot and take a listen. The best sound is rarely just below clipping. Big thanks for these videos - lost without them.

Hello Adam, I am new to your channel and so far you are easy to follow. I do have a question and my first problem. I followed your steps, and I am at the point of creating a track. I opened the screen, double clicked on the blank space, selected insert then selected media file. I did not get the secondary drop down with all the files to select from. There is a peaks folder and a learning test however, nothing opens with a ware form in the track. I am stuck and don/t know how to proceed, can you or anyone help?

Dang dude, as a huge V30 hater the 8ohm one sounds nice, thick and dark. The 16ohm one has that typical high midrange and treble spike, that granted, chomps through a band mix like nothing else, but it's just so ice picky and irritating.

This video is comical to watch knowing that they are, in fact, the exact same internals 100% replicated, and the only difference is the ball grille. Talk about placebo effect, lol. And the fact that you can take the Grille off of the 58 and it becomes a 57, which makes the 58 more versatile than the 57, with better use for vocals with the grille. And for instruments without.

Although this is an older video, for anyone who may be looking at the ART Voice Channel or perhaps has one, I have a tube recommendation that sweetens it even further. When I bought mine new, the sales rep suggested adding a "Gold Lion" tube to my purchase to swap with the included tube. I did that but before swapping, I recorded a few lines of a voice over for reference. Once swapped, I recorded the same lines again, (same settings on box) and listened to playback. There was a noticeable improvement in overall sound quality that I appreciated and figured I'd put the box in the rack and that's that. Then by chance, I happened upon an obscure online article where I guy claimed to have found a GREAT tube for the ART, an JJ ECC 83s. I purchased that tube but before swapping, I once again did another few lines of a voice over with the Gold Lion tube and then again with the JJ tube once installed. The improvement was not only noticeable but delightful and I never looked back. It's a cinch to change the tube and there's a video on RUclips doing just that. I wanted to pass this along because I really believe it brings the best out of this cool piece of gear. A recent noise floor test showed the ART had less noise than brand new and tubeless Focusrite ISA One. '-)

The neo copperback is one of the worst sounding speakers I've ever heard with gain. I'm amazed to hear that the vintage 30 was modelled after the blue. To my ear, the vintage 30 has always been muffled in the high end. It seems the opposite of bright and crisp.
